After looking over my work into evaluating photography as a medium I decided for my final stage I would revisit my IKEA idea. Creating farce images using pre existing scenes.

Initial Photographs.
I began by taking some initial photographs, I did this through a series of trips to IKEA with friends and family. I had them pose within these staged scenes doing mundane activities as if they where actually at home. I explored different angles and positions to really make it look as though I was documenting their natural behaviours and took these spontaneous photographs. Taking into consideration the rule of thirds, vantage points, contrasts, lighting and focus. I then edited these images using photoshop.
Video work.
Following my initial shoot, I decided to experiment with the idea of incorporating video into this stage. I liked how I presented these really mundane scenes in my initial photographs as if I were catching exactly what I was seeing and documenting these natural behaviours. As a result, when deciding what to shoot, I stuck to this idea. Each clip is less than a minute long and depicts various domestic behaviours. I brought a number of 'props,' such as bread, butter, a knife, coke, a glass, and some clothing, to add to the farce.
I then used iMovie to edit these clips. This was done to minimize the shaking, alter the length, and so on. I also chose to remove the sounds that where originally in the videos, for example other IKEA customers, rustling ect. And so there was only silence. This allowed me to add sound effects at various moments throughout the clips to make them seem more authentic, reinforcing the point of these video, which is that they are lies. Footsteps, wrappers, eating, clothing, zips ect where some of the noises i included.
