Environment\ Street photography

My project will be based on testing photography. Challenging whether or not it can actually be trusted, like we're so eager to believe. The camera has such a limited field of vision and we're restricted to it's frame, allowing for all sorts of manipulations. I want to take advantage of this by twisting the viewers perception of an image allowing for different interpretations of what would otherwise have been a restricted image . To do this I'm interested in exploring different techniques and styles inspired by multiple artists.

"I've finally figured out what's wrong with photography. It's a one-eyed man looking through a little 'ole. Now, how much reality can there be in that?"

INSPIRATION

I like how he experiments with expanding the cameras limited perspective and  how his photomontages work allows for us to view the image from a variety of angles. He's altering how an image is seen and therefore manipulating the scenery.

Annotations.

After going out and taking my photos, I selected my strongest images that displayed techniques such as Leading Lines, Symmetry, The Rule of Thirds ect. I then edited these images using editing sites such as Photoshop and Illustrator.

Applications

When looking back at this stage I thought my photos didn't best represent Hockney's work so rather than taking one big image, cropping it and then collaging them together using photoshop ,I decided to try other techniques.

Final piece

In response to David Hockney and his view that the medium of photography is very limiting, I decided to take a series of photographs continuously through out my trip through Manchester. Then using the tool automate on photoshop I stitch them together similar to his photomontage work, this was to broaden the viewers perspective of the scene rather than them having a limited view.
